What's New

...as of March 2007
  • Updated the garden diaries. With spring now in full force, I hope to update that a lot more often. It is probably my favorite hobby after all. Since there's still no atual sidebar link, look here. Admittedly, I haven't added anything really interesting, but I was excited about spring.

  • Added a page for a new section I'm working on. The uniX-files. Cheesy I know. The actual section isn't up yet, but here's a link to the page: firefox.html. I hope to be able to create a nice section for Linux/Unix tutorials. At the moment I'm trying to teach my dad some CSS stuff. That required a small tutorial on firefox extensions. It's ugly, but present.
  • Still working on CSS stuff. As I am between semesters I theoretically have time for this sort of thing. But alas, I find myself watching the movies I got for Christmas (and the movies I didn't get for Christmas and will therefore have to wait a year to watch again) all day instead. Rather hypocritical of me to be teaching my dad CSS when I can't get my own site working with it.

  • This site may go down for a while in the near future. Eric Rosenberry has kindly hosted it for free many years now. But I've been setting up my mac mini as a web server, and by hosting it myself I'd have more control over the backend. Specifically I could add Python and mySQL support. Hosting it myself would mean that there would probably be a lot more down time on the site. Comcast can be quite unreliable. The site would probably also run more slowly. But I think it would be a good experience.
  • Added this year's pumpkin carving pictures. My friend Michael took these pictures. I put them all up, though many are very similar. I only left one out where the lighting just didn't quite work out. So there's a lot more than usual. As for the carvings themselves, most should look familiar from previous years. But I did do a new design this year, my own Chinese dragon.
...as of August 2006
  • Procrastinating homework. So I did one of my backed up book reviews, Sorcery and Cecelia.
  • Updated a few links. More like added links for my Utah friends and the Unix Users Group. It's been long overdue, but then, most pending updates have been.
  • FINALLY added a book review for The Unofficial Lego Builder's Guide.
  • Added a book review to the Library: Around the World in 80 Days.
  • Due to classes CSS work has seriously slowed down. But one book review I hope to add soon is More Eric Meyer on CSS. I just don't have much time at the moment. On the bright side I have almost three weeks off (yay!) in a few weeks.
...as of July 2006
  • Despite apperances to the contrary, I have been working hard on this page. Just in all the wrong areas. In other words, I've been adding content to a section of the site that doesn't officially exist, and truth be told, it's lousy content at that.
  • In terms of CSS progress, my latest experiments have made the left menu, largely unreadable. So I've suspended further CSS until I've finished reading Eric Meyers' More CSS book. This looks like a fun one and while I haven't read the first, I think I'll go back and try and find it once I'm through.
  • But with a Calc test a week and Physics test almost as often, most of what is updated will be dinky little things like what I've been doing.
  • As to what I've actually been doing, I've changed the directory structure of the new gardening section. I realized I would end up with enough pages in hte long run to give each menu item it's own section, except for the linke.
  • I've also added a few pages, but there are currently no links to them.
  • Book reviews are once again backlogged. But I seem to be getting in my four book a month quota. You'd never know looking at the reviews.
  • I seem to be missing some pictures I took for the garden section...
...as of June 2006
  • More work on the new section of the web page. A few more pages up and more CSS. It's kind of bland right now, but hopefully I'll add some splash soon. I'm leaning towards changing everything over. See it here.
  • I've been working on two additions to this web page. First, a Gardening section, as mentioned last month. Part of that gardening section is a seb-section on Carnivorous Plants. I've been gradually building that page.
  • Second I've been messing around with CSS and a new site design. The new gardening page has no link to it yet because it is largely experimental and extremely incomplete. But it can be viewed my clicking here.
...as of May 2006
  • Added the first page of a new section: Gardening. The page added is my diaries on gardening. There's not link to it yet though so if you want to see it, click here.
  • For the gardening page added some CSS. Not perfect yet.
  • Added one of my ceramics pieces to the art section
  • Added book review The Illustrated Man.
  • I doubt anyone noticed the site being down because I doubt anyone keeps up on this site. But here we are, back up and running, domain renewed for another year and e-mail address changed so that in the future I'm properly alerted.
  • Added another book review: Container Gardening (Sunset Series).i
...as of April 2006
  • I found those missing reviews. This means that Memoirs of a Geisha and The Time Traveler's Wife have been added to the Library.
  • Actually added a link to 100 Garden Tips and Timesavers.
...as of March 2006
  • I can't belive it's been this long since I've updated. But here are some new things, and some not so new things.
  • Added a book review to the library, Howl's Moving Castle. And noticed that I've done several reviews and not posted them. Need to figure out where those reviews went.
  • During Halloween this last year I did a new pumpkin design. The end result is now posted in the art gallery.
  • The rest of the Halloween pictures have been posted under "Other."
  • Added book review of 100 Garden Tips and Timesavers.
  • Big Whoops. I accidentally put my index page for a Javascript project in the base of this web page. Fixed that.
...as of July 2005
  • I updated the "What's to Come" page. I haven't updated that thing in...five years? at least...
  • In a nutshell that page now says I'll start posting reviews for the books I've been reading. We'll see if I actually follow through.
  • July 30th: I've posted three new book reviews, the first since I started this page.
  • Because of the new reviews and my plans to add more I redid the Library index page. I took down the old reviews for the three books there. I'm trying to stick to a template of sorts and the old reviews need to be redone.
  • July 31st: I've reposted the Enchanted Forest and Harry Potter reviews. Right now I've only reviewed the first Harry Potter book. I think I'll add the other five as serverate reviews instead of doing the lump review I originally had. In fact, I've completely re-written those reviews. Still working on Hitchhiker's. I may re-read them just to make sure I have everything straight. ;-)
...as of June 2005
  • So much for all my promised updates but there is one...
  • I recently received an amusing flame in resonse to my "Contacting Me" page. I've posted it there.
  • I doubt there's much here that's interesting enough to warrent frequent visitors. But in case anyone cares, I will eventually make some major changes to this page. I'll have to, I'm taking an advanced web programming class in the fall.
...as of November 2004
  • November 20th: Orvietto, Venice, and Florence galleries are up. If I'm lucky, I'll finish Rome by the end of the month. Still working on captions.
  • November 20th: My goal is always to read one book a week. I haven't gotten that much done this month, but in order to keep up with my goal, I'll start posting at least short reviews of the ones I've read. There should be two book reviews up by the time the month is out.
  • November 30th: All the Travel Galleries are up. Cations are pending as are Naomi's pictures, but all my pictures are finally up.
  • November 30th: Due to extenuating circumstances I only got two books read this month. I'll be posting reviews of those, the books I read in October, and the book I read in September. Here's hoping for a whole slew of them in December to make up for my slacking off.
...as of October 2004
  • I now have the Edinburgh, Triest, and Canterbury Galleries up. Most of those wet up at the beginning of the month. I'm finding the task of putting up the rest rather daunting.
  • October is my favorite month. Halloween time. And like last year I have pictures of this year's pumpkin carving up. Bonus: the pumpkins my family did! :-D
...as of September 30th 2004
  • OK, the all the links within the page are now fixed, though most of them are still seriously outdated.
  • I did update the "Contacting Me" page with new IM accounts and a policy on contacting me.
  • Under "Other" I've added links to pictures of my trip in Europe. So far the only working pages are London and Stonehenge. I took over 100 pictures, not counting my cousin's pictures, so it will take a while to get everything up.
...as of September 2004
  • Nothing is new. Nothing! But that's because due to a server switch and the fact that I'm not clever enough to set up my own web server, the page itsself has been down for several months. Ergo, it hasn't been worked on. Furthermore, with the server change, I've lost some files which means several links are broken. Hopefully it won't be another year before I fix all of this. But I am rather busy right now with school and other commitments. The only reason this is being typed is because I am procrastinating school and other commitments. Going now...
...as of October 2003
  • The first update in two years. Added pictures of me taking my little sister to the MTC. Located under "Other."
  • Added pictures of my pumpkin carving craze. Also located under "Other."
...as of July 2001
  • Two more additions to the Art Gallery, A dragon doodle from '97 and a sketch of two Eagles.
...as of April 2001
  • A new addition to the Art Gallery. A sketch of a running horse.
...as of November 2000
  • Several corrections so that the page runs almost properly on Netscape.
  • The addition of the "Contact Me" page (finally).
  • New books in the library, though still nothing compared to what's in store.
  • Finally some info on the web site author under "This is Me."
  • Maveovers to various Links Pages.
...as of July 2000
  • The Art section has received a new member: the dragon Madrid.
  • Modifications to the size of the thumbnails in the Art section. Several black and white pictures have also been darkened for easier viewing.
...as of December 1999
  • The "What's New" and "What's to Come" pages are finally up and running.
  • Relative referencing has allowed me to cut down on the amount of space being used by images.
...as of October 1999
  • This page is finally up and running (almost) at rosenberry.org.
  • An overhaul of the style.
